Microsoft Exchange Architect & Consultant

RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re seeking a knowledgeable person experienced with Microsoft Exchange and companion products to act in the role of architect, designer, and consultant, working primarily in Redmond, Washington. This person will be responsible for designing and building out Exchange platforms and integrating these with other products. The candidate will be acting in a senior technical capacity and must be able to consistently demonstrate strong and well-rounded technical knowledge, as well as troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, to provide rapid resolution of issues associated with these platforms. The candidate will be working directly with two strong Microsoft Exchange MVPs and must be able to ‘hold their own.’

This position will involve both architect/design level activities as well as ‘down-and-dirty’ hands-on work such as server hardware build-out, OS installation, and implementation, testing and evaluation of various add-on products.

A significant proportion of the job activities will include writing documents, presentations and whitepapers about products, testing results, product evaluation and comparisons, etc. Occasionally, it may also require giving live presentations directly to customers.

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a BS in computer science or a related field, and have 4-10 years experience in the IT arena. (We will accept significant job-related experience in lieu of a degree.) The candidate must have extensive hands-on experience (at least 3 years) with Microsoft Exchange (multiple versions but most recent versions preferred) and companion products. Additionally, the candidate will have solid experience with Microsoft server platforms, and be very familiar with Live Communication Server and SharePoint. Also important is a thorough understanding of Active Directory, ISA, IIS, and other Microsoft enterprise and networking products. This experience should include architecture and design, as well as implementation and support. Complementary skills such as troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution are likewise expected.

The candidate must have proven experience with verbal and written communications (for instance, professional presentations or writing of published articles, magazines, etc.). We place a premium on excellent communications.

Finally, the candidate should have solid customer facing and consulting experience.
